Also, resist using tools to try to recover your failed hard drive, because if you do you could find yourself in a really big trouble. Recently, one of the better stories I heard from my buddy had was one surrounding a time that he had torecover the data from a crashed hard drive.
In fact, it is almost impossible for me to monitor who is backing up their hard drive and who isnt. It turned out that my buddy Ted had the exact same problem, and as a result had to get a professional to recover the data from this crashed hard drive. He told me that even though his boss wanted him to recover the drive himself, he understood that there was no way that this was going to happen.
As a result, the drive was recovered and he was able to develop a good proactive plan for future hard drive failures.
